In today's gospel from Luke we hear:
Jesus saw a tax collector named Levi sitting at the customs post.
He said to him, “Follow me.”
And leaving everything behind, he got up and followed him.
It's astounding to think that someone, without hesitation, just left everything and followed Jesus. It's so bold, dramatic, brave, humble, and most of all trustful. But that's exactly what Jesus calls us to do - to take up our cross and follow him. He wants us; all of us. He wants us despite our failures and our sinfulness. Jesus loves us and everyday he is inviting us to follow him. Will you acception his invitation?
Prayer
Lord Jesus, your mercy and love is everlasting. Give me a brave and humble heart that is full of trust in you. Help me to accept your invitation to follow you each and every day of my life. Amen.
