Father Leo Vanyo, who faithfully served as rector of Saint Paul Cathedral for 30 years, was an avid reader, Biblical scholar and teacher. He loved books and upon his death left to the Cathedral parish a large collection of his personal books. He died on March 7, 2009. Volunteers began cataloguing the books and working to open a library and resource center for the parish. The Father Leo Vanyo Library and Resource Center was officially dedicated on November 25, 2012 by Very Reverend Kris D. Stubna, pastor and rector of Saint Paul Cathedral parish. This library is located on the first floor of Synod Hall (entrance off of Craig Street). It provides our parish family and others the opportunity to learn more about their faith and deepen their love for the Catholic Church. All are welcome to utilize this library and resource center.

Hours of Operation:
Contact the parish office for the current hours of operation.
Library Volunteers are all readers and love working with books. You might find volunteers checking on books, making reminder calls for overdue books, placing new labels on new books or DVD’s, shelving books or making inventory. If you are interested in learning more about volunteering opportunities at the library please call the parish office. Questions for the library staff can also be made by calling the parish office at 412-621-4951 or emailing [email protected].
Many thanks to our group of volunteers who have made this project a great success: Diane Faust, Kathy Gallagher, Linda McDougald, and Judith Saunders.
Donations can be made to help the library, both financial resources and donations of books. We can only take books that present authentic Catholic teaching and are approved by the Church.
