TV Ministry

Stations and Broadcast Times

Televised Masses are broadcast on channel 95 (Christian Associates) in Pittsburgh at 8:00 AM on Sundays and 8:15 AM on weekdays.

The Mass is preceded by morning prayer with the Bishop at 8:00 AM and followed by the Rosary with the Bishop until 9:00 AM.

When You Just Can’t Get to Mass … Tune in to the Cathedral!

Maybe the roads are dangerously slick with ice…

Maybe you’re very sick and can’t get out…

Maybe you’re deaf and would like to lip-read the prayers and readings…

Maybe your work schedule doesn’t allow you to get to weekday Mass, but you’d really like to experience the Church’s worship…

The Solution

Tune in to the televised Mass every day at 8 a.m. on Christian Associates’ Channel (channel 95).

Since 1991, thanks to the dedication of a team of volunteers, the Cathedral’s Mass has been cablecast to people who are homebound and would like to be with us in prayer.

You Can Help!

Mass is cablecast from the Cathedral every day. That requires at least two people, one operating a camera and the other “behind the scenes” in the control room.

This requires training, in the details of the liturgical rites of the Church as well as the use of tech equipment. The work requires a level of skill and a commitment to get to the Cathedral even in inclement weather.
