Saint Paul Cathedral 2017 Summer Series of Organ Concerts

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – – Sunday’s at 4:00pm


July 9: Kevin Vaughn of Gloria Dei Church, South Bend, Goshen College. Notre Dame University’s first Doctor of Musical Arts also holds degrees in piano, organ, and sacred music. Kevin performs music of Vierne, Krebs, Litaize, Bach, and Mendelssohn.











July 16: Jeanne Kohnis Director of Music at Ascension Church, Pittsburgh, since 1992! She has studied at Connecticut College, New England Conservatory, the North German Organ Academy, and Cincinnati Conservatory. She will play music of Bach, Mendelssohn, Sweelinck, and Brahms.






July 23: Gail Henry of Memorial Park Church, Pittsburgh.  Gail holds degrees from Ohio Weslyan University, and Michigan State. With special guest trumpeter Rick Murrell, they will perform music of Bach and, Krebs!







July 30: Joseph BalistreriDirector of Episcopal Music Blessed Sacrament R.C. Cathedral, Detroit; and Coordinator of Music Ministries, Archdiocese of Detroit. Joe will perform music of Bach, Messiaen, and Durufle.







August 6: Don Fellows – is Director of Music of St. Paul Cathedral, Pittsburgh. In addition to organ repertoire by Bach and Mendelssohn, Don has invited saxophonist Steve Sharek to perform music for Sax & Organ, by Proulx, Halley, Farrell, and Lioncourt.









August 13: Christopher Berryis Organist/Director of Music of Basilica of St. Josaphat, Milwaukee; and faculty of Carthage College, Kenosha. His extensive concert career has him performing music of Bach, Buxtehude, Distler, Grigny, Hakim, Langlais, and Tournemire!






August 20: Nicholas Willserves as Director of Music of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, and as faculty of Franciscan University, Steubenville; and as assistant organist of Heinz Memorial Chapel. He performs music of Widor, Faure, Dupre, Peeters, Purvis, Mendelssohn, Bach, and Bruhns.
